SOCIAL NOTES
Mrs J. Kerby, of Turua, is spending a few days in Auckland. Mrs Holmes, of Waiuku, is staying with Mrs F. Loader, Turua. Mrs K. Fox and family, of Turua, are spending a short holiday at the Thames Coast. Mrs K. McKenzie, of Turua, and her son Ray arc visiting Palmerston North where Ray is competing in an elocutionary contest. Mrs C. Scott and Miss Olga Scott, of Turua, are visiting Auckland for a few days. / Mrs C. Madgwick has returned to Turua after spending a short holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs Roach, of Netherton. Gunner D. A. Hayes, is spending her leave at the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs A. Hayes, Kerepeehi. Misses Nancy and Isobel Jones, of Ngatea, and Miss Alice Jecks, of Auckland, have been visiting friends at Wharepoa. Mrs W. Jones, lady superintendent of the Ngatea St. John Ambulance Nursing Division, has completed five weeks-' nursing at the Thames Hospital as night sister, and has now undertaken to do a fortnight’s relieving duty at a private hospital in Auckland. Mrs J'. Knight, of Gordonton, is the guest of Mrs R. L. Davies, Willoughby street, Paeroa.
