TWO FROM PLAINS
MENTIONED IN DESPATCHES CAPT. BARBER, PTE. MIDDLETON Temporary-Captain E. Hazledene‘barber. and Private J. Middleton, two soldiers from the Hauraki Plains, were included in the list of officers and other ranks of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force who have been mentioned in despatches. Temporary-Captain Barber was county engineer to the Hauraki Plains County Council at the time of his enlistment with the forces, and resided at Ngatea. Mrs Barber is at present living at Sanson. Private Middleton’s home town is Kerepeehi.
