DANCE AT TURUA
AN ENJOYABLE EVENING
PATRIOTIC FUNDS AIDED
A very enjoyable dance, arranged by the Navy Patriotic Committee, took place in the Turua Buildings on Friday, May 7. The music was excellently supplied by Mrs T. Clark and Mrs. J- Thrupp (piano) and Mi* Alan Whitehouse (drums) who also carried out the duties of M.C.
The first part .of the evening, from 7.30 to 8.15, was spent -in dancing lessons for beginners. The actual dance began at 8.15.
Two competitions were held, during the evening and were won by Mrs Dagger and Mrs Fred Gray. The Monte Carlo was won by Master Jock McMillan and Miss Hazel Tapp while the spot waltz was won by Mr Norman Olsen and Miss E. Elvin.
