TRIBUTE PAID

LATE MR R. G. STOCK LARGE FUNERAL WEDNESDAY Tribute to the memory of the late Mr R. G. Stock, of Paeroa, whose death occurred suddenly on Monday, was paid by the large congregation which on Wednesday afternoon attended the funeral service held in the Methodist Church, prior to the burial ceremonial at the Paeroa Cemetery.

The Rev. J. R. Nelson conducted the service. The hymn, “0 'God, Our Help m jAges Past,” was sung, followed by the reading of appropriate psalms and other Scripture portions and the offering of prayer. In an appreciation of the personality and character of the late Mr Stock, the officiating minister referred to his quiet but sincere Christian witness, and his devotion to the services of the Methodist Church, of which he was a member, he for a considerable time past having attended public worship twice every Sunday. The speaker commended the example which, in this and other respects, Mr Stock offered to the community.

The numerous floral tributes of esteem and affection included one from the Methodist officials and congregation.

The pall-bearers comprised the following relatives and friends of .he family, Messrs J. K. and Jack Dean, R. Ganky, A. E; Simm, L. and R. Wbrit’-.
