DANCE AT NGATEA
INSTITUTE ENTERTAINMENT
VERY SUCCESSFUL EVENING
Excellent support was afforded the Ngatea Women’s Institute dance which was held in the Ngatea Public Hall on Monday night, April 19.
Competition was also keen in the waltzing, Maxina and Valeta . contests', which were judged by Mr L. Maclndoe and Mr M. Gardner. Winners were:— Waltzing (junior competition, the age group 'being 10' to 16 years). Jean Sydenham and Jack Laurich*. Valeta.—Mrs L. E. Jackson and Mr J. Galvin, senr. Maxina. —Mr and Miss Death. The Monte Carlo prizes were awarded to Miss E. Laurich and Mr N. Whisker. The large crowd • present again showed their appreciation of the music provided 'by ,B er t Kirby’s' Collegians from Thames. Misses Pat. Johnson and Dorothy Stitchbury obliged with the extras. A plenteous supper was served by members of the Institute, and Miss A. Paul, president, expressed the thanks of the branch for such gratifying support by the attendance of so many. Patrons were present 1 Thames, Paeroa, and most dis- / tricts on the Hauraki Plains.
