WEATHER MARS THE CEREMONY
SERVICE HELD IN REGENT THEATRE PUBLIC PAY FITTING TRIBUTE ON SUNDAY Due no doubt to the, weather, which was windy with occasional showers, the attendance at the Anzac commemoration service held in Paeroa on Sunday was smaller than usual, some 400 to 500 people assembling to pay fitting tribute to those who made the supreme sacrifice in the Boer War, the Great War and the present conflict. The service was held in the Regent Theatre as conditions on Primrose Hill were far from pleasant. Led by the Paeroa Municipal Band, the parade of returned men, Home Guardsmen and cadets marched from the Post Office down Normanby road, along Arney and Princess streets back to the Regent Theatre prior to t e ceremony taking place. Many beautiful wreaths, both official tributes and from the general public, were placed on the stage in the theatre and later placed on the Cenotaph on Primrose Hill.
