Interest Instead of Overdraft
“For the first time in over 40 years there is no charge for interest on overdraft, and in its place is an item in the redeip's of £46 16s 9d for interest on Post Office Savings Bank deposit,” stated the chairman, Mr W. Marshall, at the monthly meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council on Wednesday, in reporting on the balance sheet for the year ended March 31, 1543.
