FIRMER ACTION
- BOOKS NOT RETURNED PAEROA PUBLIC LIBRARY In future firmer action is to be taken with those subscribers to the Paeroa Public Library who fail to return books and ( have fines not paid, the acting-town clerk being given authority to prosecute if necessary at Thursday’s meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council. The Library. Committee reported on the matter as follows: — “There are a few people who have not returned books borrowed from the library and are owing fines for those books being overdue. Other instances are where books have been returned overdue and fines not paid. “Letters have been forwarded but in some cases no replies have been received.
“It is recommended that the acting-town clerk be given authority to take whatever steps are necessary to secure these books and fines, even to go so far as to issuing a summons. Some of these books are in big demand.”
