Lamb Killings
Increased quantities of lambs have been coming forward to Canterbury freezing works as a result of the recent spell of warm weather, but the district slock superintendent of the Department of Agriculture (Mr E. Elphick) reports that the position .has not changed a great deal. Present indicate ms were that ewe kill.ngs would be down considerably on last year’s figures because of the high prices being realised at ewe fairs. It seems, said Mr Elphick, that farmers had decided to build up tl.-nr flocks again in anticipation of the cessadom of the -a ar.
