armed forces board SITTING HELD IN PAEROA FARMERS’ CASES DECIDED A sitting of the No. 2 Armed Forces Appeal Board -was held in the Courthouse, Paeroa, on Wednesday, the chairman, Mr Edwin Edwards, presiding. Associated with him weie Messrs E. J. Wilton, J. J. Poland and the secretary, Mr A. Ripley. Captain P. Williamson -represented tne Army. The following appeals were adjourned sine die, reservist to remain in his present employment and continue to serve in or join the Home Guard (appellant’s name is shown in parentheses): — -G. A. L. Gibb, farmer, of Hikutaia (Mrs J. Gibb, mother); H.'S. Spinks, shartemilker of Hikutaia (A. Duncan); E. A. VowlOs, farmer of Netherton (G' H. Vowles and self), E. B. Williams, farmer of Netherton (self), E. A. Anderton, sharemilker oi Awaiti (G. Buchanan).

The appeal by H. Morrison, fanner, of Hikutaia, for his farmhand, James Kennedy, was adjourned un i June 30, 19431, reservist to continue m his presefit employment and (jontinue to serve in the Home Guard. Permission to withdraw ns app 1 was granted E. Fisher farmer of Kerepeehi. Fisher stated that n. had made arrangements with a„ returned soldier to carry on his xS-j and he was ready to enter camp m June. The appeal of I. M.. Robinson, farmer, of Hikutaia, for M. I Robinson, farmhand, was adjourned unU June 30, 1843, reservist to remain m hi s present employment and to continue to.serve in the Home Guard. Permission to withdraw his appea for his sharemilker, V. E. J. Turner, was granted R. H. Heappey, arm er of Netherton.

Permission to withdraw his appeal was granted /W. Woofe, carpenter, Paeroa, employed by the Public • Works Department. The appeal of T. Considine for his sharemilket, L. M. Considine, was ’ adjourned until June 30', 1943, re ' seryist to continue in his present employment and join the Home Guard within seven days. The appeal of the .Public Works De- ' partment, Paeroa, for C.. A. Patton, a clerk, was adjourned sine die, reservist to remain in his present employment and continue to serve m the District Engineers’ Service Corp.
