TWENTY YEARS AGO

NETHERTON FARMERS

VISIT TO EIAST TAMAKI

CO-OPERATIVE DAIRYING

('From the Hauraki Plains Gazette of April 7, 1923) Yesterday morning Messrs J. B. Whisker, B. Johnson, J. (Harms, and R. H. Heappey, all of the New Zealand -Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., left by ear for East Tamaki, where they intend visiting the Tamaki factory. There the delegation will meet Mr Leonard,, secretary of -the company, who will demonstrate the difference between proprietary and co-operative dairying concerns. The visit is the outcome of the Netherton suppliers’ meeting which was held recently. At that meeting some of the suppliers with favourable leaning® towards proprietary concerns were invited to pay a visit to the factory mentioned, at the expense of the New Zealand Dairy Co., Ltd. The invitation was readily accepted by the suppliers. The New Zealand Dairy Co., Ltd. believes in the saying “seeing is believing” and it is felt that the expense incurred in touring the delegation round will be justified, as it is expected that they will return to their fellow suppliers at Netherton fully convinced that their - own company can offer them the greatest facilities and benefits for the successful warketing of their produce.
