LORRY DRIVER BEFORE COURT

WAS TRAVELLING AT 40; M.P.H.

s A lorry driver, George Taranaki, was fined £1 10s, court costs 12s, translation fee ss, by Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., in the Paeroa Court on Monday for exceeding the speed limit of 25 m.p.h. set for such vehicles.

Traffic Inspector R. B. Doggett stated that on January 28 he had stopped Taranaki who had been driving a lorry loaded with cream cans at a speed of 40 m.p.h. Taranaki had no excuse to offer for the speed. A fine as stated above was imposed.
