FOOT INJURED

ACCIDENT WITH TRACTOR MAN’S VERY NARROW ESCAPE When a tractor ran over his foot, throwing him to the ground under'the machine, Mr W. E. Gunn, an employee of fhe Public Works Department, Paeroa, narrowly escaped serious injury. 1

The accident occurred while the tractor was being driven from the Puke depot to the '(Paeroa Railway station, the tractor starting suddenly while Mr Gunn was standing beside it, a wheel running over his foot. Mr Gunn was thrown to the ground slightly under the machine. By the prompt action of the driver the tractor was stopped just before it ran over Mr Gunn’s head. As it was a small bone was broken in Mr Gunn’s foot and he is at present an inmate of the Thames Hospital.
