BAZAAR HELD AT TURUA
MORE THAN £lOO REALISED
PRESBYTERIAN FUNCTION

A bazaar in aid of the funds of the Turua Presbyterian Church was held in the Victoria Hall, Turua, on Friday last, and proved a great success. The various stalls did a brisk .business and what little remained at about 10 o’clock was sold by auction. Various competitions were organised and were well patronised. The takings just exceeded £lOO by a few shillings.
The needleworks stall was in the charge of ’Mrs Stewart and Mrs Stevens; flowei’ stall, Mrs Johnstone; produce stall, Mesdames Dally, Zeigler, Baker, Heizeman and Robertson ment stall, Mesdames Young and Dale and Misses Bell and Dale.
The winners of the competitions were: — Weight - guessing, cake (811 b. Mrs 'Schmidt and-Mr •Baker; small cake (7ilb.), seven guessed the correct weight, Mrs Reid (being awarded the prize; number of beads (410), Mrs' Elvin, 412; shooting competition, for lady’s nightdress, A. Elvin, for Miss E. Glotworthy; camisole, Miss K. Miller.
