WAIKAREMOANA DEVELOPMENT

POPULAR HOLIDAY RESORT

“With better conditions and facilities after the war, Waikaremoana should ascend to a new position as an important and popular resort of the Dominion,” stated the Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister for Internal Affairs, in Napier. The Minister said he had always understood that Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne people claimed Waikaremoana as one of their principal holiday resorts and he did not question the excellence of their choice. Apart from the beauty of Lake Waikaremoana arid its sister, Waikare-iti, there were the wonderful bush surroundings which the high altitude from sea level gave.
