BAY OF PLENTY RACES TOTE INCREASE £11,280/10/AUTUMN MEETING AT PAEROA Although the attendance at the Paeroa racecourse on. Saturday for the Autumn meeting of the Bay of Plenty Racing 'Club was not as large as on the previous Saturday when the Ohinemuri Jockey Club held its Autumn meeting the totalisator showed an increase of. £11,280 • 10s over the last meeting held 'by the club in 1941 at Tauranga. £45,251 was put * through the machine on Saturday compared with £33,970 10s handled at Tauranga two years ago.
Although there were divisions in vhree races interesting sport was provided and with form to the fore those present were provided with an enjoyable day. Local horses to score were Messrs J. and P. E. Brenan’s -Kentish which won the Flying Handicap and Mr H. Evans’ Betterman which took the second division of the President’s HacK Handicap. Skydonna, Mr Evans’ other representative in the President’s Hack Handicap was only narrowly defeated in the first division, being beaten into second by a neck by Water Vixen.
