TO ASSESS SETTLERS

KEREPEEHI PATRIOTIC FUND £396 TO BE RAISED THIS YEAR Mrs A. L. Fisher presided over a good attendance of residents at the meeting of the Kerepeehi Patriotic Committee held in the Kerepeehi Hall recently. . After a lengthy discussion it was decided to carry out the same method as last year to raise the quota of £396 for the 1943 All Purposes Appeal that being 'by assessment. The district’s quota for 1941 appeal was £315, the amount paid in being £362 16s lid. For the 1942 appeal the quota was £340 and £37o' was paid in. The gentlemen nominated for the assessors’ committee were Messrs D G. McMillan, A. Hayes, H. Candy, H Innis, A. Jordan, J. Smith, A. Strong and Poland. A tribute to the good work of last year’s committee was paid by Mr R. Harvey and seconded by acclamation:
