PLAINS SCHOOL SPORTS

CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHIES.

HERBERT SMITH TRUST GRANT.

Three more silver cups, valued at £5 5s each, have been donated by the Herbert Smith Trust to the Hauraki Plains primary schools’ championship sports. One cup will be a championship trophy for those schools with a roll number below sixty and the other two will be challenge cups for the schools whose girl pupils and boy pupils, respectively, win the most points for the championship. There are now four championship cups and one trophy for the runnersup, and as every event winner will receive a miniature cup or medal the competition should be very keen. The fact of there being separate trophies foi' the schools above and below the size of sixty pupils will undoubtedly tend to greater competition.
