PIG MARKETING ASSOCIATION. MONTHLY REPORT. The N.Z. Co-operative Pig Marketing Association reports for the month as follows :— “Supplies.—Since the publication of our last report the supply of pigs has shown a marked increase, but the supply is considerably limited this year, chiefly owing to the large number of calves being reared, and also to the high rates ruling for store pigs. We anticipate, however, an increased supply from now onward. “Markets. —The Home market is still firm, with every indication of so remaining, but local sales are easier. Farmers, however, can look forward to a prosperous season as far as pigs are concerned. During the month we have shipped a considerable number of pigs to the United Kingdom. “Advance Payments.—The present advance made to suppliers is as foltlows : Prime porkers, 60-1101 b, 4£d ; prime baconers, 110-1801 b, 4id ; heavy baconers, 1801 b and over, 3d ; choppers, 2d. “Pools.—The first pool of the new season, embracing all pigs supplied during July .and August, is now finalised, and cheques for final bonus on this pool should be in suppliers’ hands within the next week or ten days.”
