THE TALKIES.
AURORA THEATRE. BEHIND THAT CURTAIN. “Behind That Curtain,” shown here for the first time on Saturday, will be again presented this evening, to-mor-row, and on Wednesday. This thrilling romantic mystery, directed by Irving Cummings, with Warner Baxter, Lois Moran, and Gilbert Emery in the leading roles, is said to present to sight such strikingly picturesque backgrounds as London streets, India’s bazaars and villages, the sweep of the Persian desert, and San Francisco’s Chinatown. Beginning with a mysterious murder in a London barrister’s office, the action swings to India, where the tortured wife of a derelict, whom *he suspects of the crime, flees from him to her first love —and accompanies him on a caravan trip across the desert. How she escapes when pursued by her husband and a Scotland Yard man in an aeroplane, hides herself in San Francisco, and finally finds happiness after a crashing climax, makes up a picture of absorbing interest.
