QUEEN CARNIVAL. > MEETING AT PURIRI. A well attended and representative meeting was held in the Puriri Hall on the evening, of Tuesday, November 19, when Mr E. E. Elliott, president of the Thames Valley carnival queen area, presided. Mr Elliott explained the purpose of the carnival and elaborated upon the benefits the country people would derive from such a public park. The following officers were elected : Secretary, Mr E. Turner; assistant secretary, Mr C. W. Winder ; representatives on the central executive,Messrs H. Lowe and E. E. Elliott.
