As blackberries are now putting forth their new leaves their presence is very noticeable along the roads of the Hauraki Plains, and there can be no doubt whatever that the weed is spreading rapidly every year. The present is not a good time to cut blackberries, but it is maintained by those who have experimented extensively that very good results follow from cutting as the berries are ripening. Possibly by that time the County Council will have a noxious weeds inspector.
