Although feed is very plentiful on the Hauraki Plains, many residents have taken advantage of the fact that the County Council has neither an inspector nor a ranger, and are running stock on the “long paddock.’! Some have even gone to the length of attaching bells to the necks of those cows which they graze on the roads.
