HIKUTAIA HALL.
PRESENTATON TO SECRETARY. QUESTION OF WATER SUPPLY. A meeting of the Hikutaia Hall Committee was held in the ante-room on Monday evening, Mr A. R. Robinson, chairman, presiding. The matter of arranging to have the water supply laid on to the hall was left in abeyance to enable the secretary to investigate the cost and to give a full report on the matter. It was also unanimously agreed that in future all bookings must be made directly through the secretary, and that the hire fees must be paid in advance. At the close of the meeting Mr Robinsdn presented Mr Ellis with a fountain pen, in recognition of his services in the capacity of secretary, a position he had held for many years with credit to himself and to the committee. Mi- Ellis, in replying to the presentation, thanked the chairman for his remarks, saying that whatever he had done had been done with pleasure, and under the consideration that it was his duty.
