HAURAKI PLAINS GAMES.
SATURDAY’S PLAY. The Hauraki Plains Cricket Association commenced its inter-club competition on Saturday last in good weather. Two-day matches being the order for the first round, each team played one innings only. Kopuarahi, the winners of last year’s competition, established a lead of twelve runs from last year’s runners-up, Ngatea, the totals being 76—64.
Turua, with 121 runs, established a lead which will probably give that team an innings victory from Pipiroa on Saturday next, Pipiroa’s total being only 32. Kaihere made 111 against Waitakaruru’s 50.
