MEETING OF BOARD. The present trustees of the Netherton Drainage Board held their last meeting on Friday last, when, in the Netherton Hall, Mr G. Buchanan presided over Messrs F. T. V. Johnson, B. Halligan, J. A. Reid, and the clerk, Mr J. E. Green. Penalty on Rates. The date for the imposition of the 10 per cent, penalty on outstanding rates was fixed as November 1. Deputations. It was agreed that any deputations deserving to wait upon the board would have to give at least seven clear days’ notice before the date of the meeting of their intention and the nature of the business. Election of Trustees. In connection with the election of trustees, the clerk reported that he had asked the Internal Affairs Department for advice concerning the procedure to be adopted in connection with the appointment of two trustees for the H Drain area. The department might ask the three elected members to nominate two others, or it might have the inquiries made by its own representatives. Until the vacancies were filled the two area members, Messrs J. A. Reid and E. A. Chester would have to continue to represent the H Drain area.
