BOROUGH WORKS.
OPERATIONS DURING MONTH. COMMITTEE’S REPORT. The following report by the Works Committee was presented at the meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council on Thursday :— “Maintenance. —The usual maintenl ance has been attended to during the J past month, including main highway work. “Water. —A 2-inch service mam has been laid in Belmont Road from Mr Bain’s towards William Street and certain leaking services cut off. “Tree Planting.—All the trees have been planted on the Range Street reserve, and nearly all the proposed street planting is finished. “‘Station Road.—Piping and filling drains is almost complete. “Station Road has now been gazetted a main highway in lieu of Arney Street, which will now enable the 1 main highway work on this section to be proceeded with. “Road Work.—Fraser Street and /.Did Te Aroha Road have been spawled j and metalled, and we recommend one K coat of bitumen and chips as an econ- ' omy measure. Formation work at the hospital is well advanced and will shortly be completed. Cenotaph.—Work on the Memorial and Primrose Hill is proceeding satisfactorily, and a fair quantity of broken metal is now accumulating at the quarry.”
