CROQUET CLUB.

OFFICIAL OPENING. A DELIGHTFUL AFTERNOON. The official opening of the Paeroa Croquet Club took place on Thursday last. The day was graced with perfect weather, many members and friends attending, besides several visitors from the Waihi, Waikino, Te Aroha and Hikutaia clubs. Mrs Barclay, the president, in an inaugural speech, extended a hearty welcome to the visitors and spoke on the prospects of a successful season. In the tournament played during the course of the afternoon Mrs Wallace, of Te Aroha, won the A trophy and Mrs Me Pherson, of Waihi, the B. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the members, and a most pleasant afternoon was spent by all.
