PRESENTATION TO RESIDENTS; About forty residents of the Kerepeehi district took part last Friday evening in a surprise party to Mr and Mrs J. Murdock. It was organised by Mesdames Pearson and Parsons to show the appreciation of the people of the district 'to Mr and Mrs Murdock for making their house available for meetings and social functions during the time there was no hall available, and to that end a presentation of a silver afternoon-tea service was made to Mr and Mrs Murdock by Mr H. Hoff. During the evening the guests entertained themselves with cards, games, and music. Songs were contributed by Mesdames Stancell, Reddy, and Swaby, the Rev. D. Maddison, and Mr G. Boswell; pianoforte solos were given by Mrs Elliott, and recitations by Messrs G. Barnbrook and H. Hoff.
HOPAI.
KITCHEN EVENING. A kitchen evening, given by Mi’ and Mrs A. R. Vowles, was held at their residence, Hopai, last Thursday evening. The guest of honour was Miss D. Wade, whose marriage to Mr A. E. Kemp, late of Ngatea and now of Cambridge, will take place on Thursday. Miss Wade received many useful gifts from her friends, and the guests were entertained to dancing and music.
