WEST CLUB DANCE.

SUCCESSFUL AFFAIR. AN ENJOYABLE EVENING. The annual dance and euchre tournament of the West Football Club held on Wednesday night at the Gaiety Theatre proved a thoroughly enjoyable and successful event. Dancing in the well-decorated hall was enjoyed by a large number of couples, and the stage was well filled with euchre players. The winners of the various prizes in this competition were as follows : Men : Mrs Lowry 1; Mrs Wilson 2 ; Mr Kearns 3. Ladies : Mrs Fisher 1 ; Mrs May 2 ; Mrs Rackham 3.

In the unavoidable absence of the president, Mr E. Edwards, the duty of presenting the trophies devolved itself upon Mr D. Fraser, the honorary secretary of the club, to whom great credit is due for the whole evening’s entertainment.

The cup presented by Mrs E. S. Masters for the most improved player in the club for the season was presented to L. Carrick, of the senior team, and an anonymously donated medal for the best all-round junior player to P. Poland. On behalf of the West Club Mr Fraser extended congratulations to Suburbs and East clubs on winning the club and knock-out competitions respectively, and thanked the ladies who helped to make the dance such a success.
