Most brands of tobacco possess some distinguishing peculiarity. The peculiarity of our New Zealand brands (produced by the National Tobacco Co., Ltd., pioneers of the N.Z. Tobacco industry) is that once you acquire a taste for them—and it doesn”t take long—they “ spoil ” you for al) other kinds. As for the imported tobaccos, their peculiarity is that they are all more or less loaded with nicotine, so that their constant use is bound, sooner or later, to affect heart or nerves, or develop “smoker’s throat.” Thanks to the small percentage of nicotine in the New Zealand brands (already referred to) they are quite safe, and may be indulged in without fear of consequences. These fine tobaccos owe their wonderful purity largely to the fact that they are toasted, which not only helps to eliminate nicotine but makes them delicious smoking.
