MAN LOSES FINGERS.
ACCIDENT AT SAW-BENCH. HAND JAMBED BY TIMBER. Last week at Messrs Lang and Freeth’s sawmill, Omahu, Mr Sam Hira sustained a painful injury. While handling a large flitch of timber at the circular saw-bench two layers sprang together suddenly, jambing one of his hands and severing two fingers. Mr Hira was immediately conveyed to the Thames Hospital, where he is now progressing favourably.
