MILITARY NOTES.

THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.

The Hauraki regimental district rifle meeting will be held in the second week of November after a lapse of ten years, this time at the Waihi rifle range. Besides the Hauraki Regiment and cadets attached theretothe Waikato Mounted Rifles will take part. The men will go under canvas on the range, blankets being furnished. Catering will be seen to by a civilian, by whom meals will be supplied at a reasonable charge. There will be 19 matches in all, including three teams matches and ones for Vickers, Hotchkiss, and Lewis guns. The Government has granted £75 for prize money.
