BALL AT TURUA.
FOOTBALL CLUB’S ANNUAL. AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS. A fine moonlight night, the “K” Boys’ Orchestra, and the excellent reputation held by the Turua Football Club for its annual balls, induced a record number of dancers to assemble at the Turua Town Hall last evening at a dance which worthily upheld the reputation created by the club’s previous functions. Black and white paper streamers hung in sh u t loops from other tightly drawn streamers, also of the club’s colours, the whole forming an effective decorative scheme for the dance hall. Blacl. and white paper also made the basis of the supper-room scheme, where there was a profusion of spring flowers effectively arranged by Mrs J.' H. Johnston and Mrs H. Hill. The sunpei' tables were laid as though for a banquet, and the work of Mesdames T. White, L. Young, and Misses K. Mules and J. Madgwick, and their corps of assistants, evoked ex., clamatiors of pleasure. During the evening paper hats were sold, and the purchaser of a certain one received a nrize. The ball was an unqualified success, and it was at a late hour that the buses left with their loads foi* all parts of the Thames Valley and Plains.
