DOMINION RAINFALL.

MAY FIGURES. GREATER IN NORTH ISLAND. In the Dominion climatological returns for May, Anawai, Maraetotara, Havelock North, shows the heaviest total rainfall registered—22.92 inches —in New Zealand during that month. Right throughout the North Island had heavier rainfall than the South Island, as was also the case in April. Of the chief stations Auckland recorded the highest mean temperature in the shade with 57.2. The highest mean maximum temperature, 64.7, was recorded at Te Aroha, the lowest, 33.7, at Karioi.
