RIFLE SHOOTING.

PAEROA’S MINIATURE CLUB. THREE-NIGHT CONTEST FINAL. The final shoot of a most interesting three-night competition was fired by the members cf the Paeroa Defence Miniature Rifle Club at the local Drill Hall on Wednesday night. Shooting has been very keen throughout the competition, and some good scores have resulted. The conditions were three separate nigh vs’ shooting with only two to count for the aggregate ; thus members could take the scores cf their two best shoots, and they could also be absent on one night and still be in the aggregate. The limit cf each shoot was 100 with the handicap. After an exciting struggle the final was not decided until after two shoots off, the winner proving to be F. Patterson, with the second prize to A. A. Jenkinson, who in the first shoot-off scored the possible off the rifle (his second possible during the competition), thus reducing his handicap to scratch in the second shoot-off. E. Turton, senr., the third man, who had been shooting well, was eliminated in the first shoot-off. Three rifles were in use, each member using the same rifle once only. T. McCormick headed the scores for the third night s shooting with a good 99. ( The following were the night s scores, with a total showing the two best out of the three shoots for each
