THAMES VALLEY BOARD. PAEROA DISTRICT OPERATIONS. The following is the Paeroa district portion of the report presented by the enginee? - to the Thames Valley Power Board at its meeting on Tuesday : — Waihi Plains. “Work commenced on this section from the Waikino end on July 20. A mile and a half of pole-fitting has been done, and one mile of poling is completed. The roads are too bad at present' for motor transport, such work being done by horses, but the going is good, and it is hoped to make the first section alive within about three weeks. Kerepeeri. “The line down the riverside to supply Messrs McLaren -and Price has been finished and supply given. Construction was difficult owing to the wet conditions, most of the poles being erected in water “The route for the 11,000-volt line on the Kerepeehi block has been pegged out, and all the material and most of the poles have been distributed. Work was started on July 31. It is hoped to make supply available within about four weeks. General. “The street light circuit at Ngatea has been extended 27 chains to supply a new lighl at the saleyards corner. “A 100 k.v.a. sub-station has been installed /'to supply the. Hikutaia quarry. “On Sunday, July 14, the PukeThames line was'shut down for overhaul, and on’Sunday, July 21, the Pae-roa-Waikino line was shut down for the straightening and bracing of arms. - “House-wiring Department : This department has been very busy duriift, the past month, ~ though sickness an 1 bad weather have retarded progress considerably. “Meter Testing : A new meter-test-ing panel has been installed and the first small shipment of meters tested. Everything is in readine.-.s ror dealing with the main supply, the first shipment of which is due shortly.
