QUEEN CARNIVAL.

TO-MORROW'S GRAND FINAL' The executive of the Queen Carnival met last evening to make final arrangements in connection with closing the carnival to-morrow. A procession, in the charge of Superintendent W. J. Moore, will assemble at 6.45 p.m. and move off punctually at 7 p.m. from the Paeroa Hotel, proceeding as far as the Criterion Hotel and returning to the post office. The foltowing order was decided bj r ballot: First, Farmers’ Queen representatives ; second, Business Queen representatives ; third, Sports Queen representatives. It is expected that the Farmers’ Queen section will be headed by a piper and the business and sports sections by the local band. Immediately on the return of the procession to the post office the organisers of the various queens will proceed to dispose of any goods still on hand in the following order : First. Sports; second, Business; third, Farmers’. A blackboard, in the charge of Mr C. W. Malcolm, will disclose the positions of the various queens at intervals of IE minutes, commencing as soon as possible after 9 p,m. After the final figures have been disclosed, at 10 p.m., the Mayor will address the assemblage for a few minutes, followed by the organisers of the various queens. SPORTS QUEEN. TO-NIGHT’S DANCE. The final dance—this time plain and fancy—and euchre tournament of the Queen Carnival takes place to-night at the Gaiety Theatre under the auspices of the Sports Committee. Join in and make the last affair one huge and outstanding success! For the euchre winners sacks of coal, flour, and other most useful things are waiting. POSITION OF THE QUEENS. At noon to-day the Sports Queen was leading, followed by the Farmers' Queen, with the Business Queen third. ’nhe clock dial records £1027 14s 7d.
