NGATEA. CHURCH SOCIAL. There was a fair attendance of Ngatea folk at the regular social, and dance held in aid of the Ngatea Church of England building fund on Wednesday evening; The music wafi by the Ngatea orchestra, and..Mr-jJ, Neate was M.C. r>, , The euchre tournament was won by Miss Irwin, Mrs Barriball, and Messrs L. Cotter and H. Martin. A competi-i tion. for a cake was won by Miss Dent, • and the Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr and Mrs L. Cotter. When presenting the prizes .the vicar, the Rev. D. Maddisqn, announced that it was hoped to -have the church built within a few months. In, an effort to raise sufficient to open the church free of debt a concert by;a party of well-known Auckland entertainers would be held in September, The ladies’ hockey matches on the Hauraki Plains to-morrow will be as follows,:. Waitakaruru at Kopuarahi B, Turua at Kerepeehi-.A, Ngatea School at Kerepeehi B. Kopuarahi A has a bye.
