RIFLE SHOOTING.

PAEROA’S MINIATURE CLUB. COMPETITION CONTINUED. There was a good muster of members of the Paeroa Defence Miniature Rifle Club, at the local Drill Hall on Wednesday night, on the occasion of the second night’s shoot, of the threenight competition for a trophy presented by the club. The shooting was keen and interesting throughout. Any - two of the three shoots will count for the aggregate. The top score for the evening was. registered by F. C. Hubbard and E. Turton, sent., who each put on 99 off * the rifle, the maximum score, with handicap being 100. Following are the results :—

The six leading scores in the competition for the two nights’ shooting are : E. Turton, senr., 200 ; A. A. Jenkinson, 196 ; L. Morris, 193; A. Mellor, 189; H. A. Morrison, 187; A. Simmonds, 185., The competition will be brought to a close next Wednesday night.
