OBITUARY.

MR. W. J. HALL. Word has been received by cable of the death in Vancouver of Mi’ W. J. Hall, of Matatoki, who left New Zealand just a month ago on a visit to England. The late Mr Hall, who was born in Selwyn, Canterbury, took up land at Matatoki about 30 years ago, and of late years had been known in all dairying countries as one of the most successful breeders of Jersey cattle. He was a past president of the Thames Valley Jersey Breeders’ Association, and of the Hauraki A. and P. Association, and his services were in demand of late years by numerous A. and P. societies as Jersey cattle judge. For the last twelve years he represented the Thames County on the Thames Hospital Board. His widow will be returning from Vancouver by the next trip of the Niagara. He leaves a son and four daughters.
