FIGURES FOR PAEROA.

RECORD FOR JUNE.

Last month 5.70 inches of rainfall were recorded in Paeroa, the heaviest foi’ June since 1923, when 6 inches fell. Rain fell on 22 days, with the 24th showing .84 the worst day. From the first to the sixth there was no rain, the wettest week being from the 22nd to the 28th, 2.42 inches. Last year in June 3.90 inches were recorded. The total rain for the year up to yesterday was 26 .13, as against 22.50 last year. The warmest days were the 7th and Bth, with 63 degrees, and the coldest the Ist and 2nd, with 42. The wind came from the north on five days, the north-west on ten days, north-east east on one, west on eight,. south-west on two, and southeast on three. An,easterly gale struck the town on the 19th, and both frost and rain were experienced on the night of the 14th.

JUNE A WET MONTH.

There were seventeen days last month during which a fall of rain was recorded by the gauge at the office of the Lands Drainage Department at Kerepeehi, - the total rain for the month being 4.72 inches, which is a little over half an inch more than the June average of the last 16 years. There were no particularly heavy falls last month, the heaviest being .67 of an inch, on the 24th. On the 7th there was .35 of an inch, from the 9th to the 12th 1.67 inches, on the 14th .05, from the 18th to the 19th .38, and in the continuous wet nineday period at the end of the month 2.27 inches.

The total rain for the first half of the present year is 17.41 inches, which is four inches below the average for the first six months of the last 16 years.
