Pipe smoking is boyeming. increasingly popular amongst?, men, although there is a lessened, demand, tobacconists will tell you,, for very s trong tobaccos, which, of' course,, towe theii’ strength to the excess of nicotine they contain. And’!, excess of rdcotine is bad. That i'&- why the habit ual use of imported tobaccos —mostly full of nicotine and? consequently liable to iizause heart and nerve trouble—should be avoided. The safest tobaccos of all are those grown and mat lufactured here in New Zealand by the National Tobacco Company, Ltd. They contain so little nicotine that they may be smoked from daylight to dar k without fear of consequences. And Tor flavour and aroma they arc simply u nrivalled. This is largely attributable t<» the fact that the leaf is toasted. No other tobaccos are thus treated. And it is the toasting that eliminates the nicotine and develops flavour and bouquet. These brands arc unique, and .are now in general request. Leading lines : Riverhead Gold (mild), Navy Cut and Cavendish (medium), Cut Plug No. 10 (full strength).. They are on sale everywhere.* x. j
