Containing a novel and artistic supplement beautifully coloured this week’s “N.Z. Sporting and Dramatic Review” is more than usually interesting and attractive. On the double centre pages are photos of the All Blacks, which will make a universal appeal to readers. Another attractive page shows the King’s return from Bognor, and the magnificent mansion of millionaire Washington, publisher. Racing is represented by the opening day of the Auckland Trotting Club’s winter meeting, scenes of the spirited contests at Alexandra Park, and the Cornwall handicap at Epsom. Interesting pictures of Alsatian girls in costume at Orleans in celebration of Joan of Arc Five Hundredth Anniversary, Queen’s visit to Women’s Own Hospital, Miss Helen Wills, the famous American tennis player, attractive costumes seen at the Arts Ball in Auckland and the British women’s open golf championship add to the attractiveness of this week’s Review. Very charming indeed is a page of the latest fashions, June brides, three of the European beauties photographed upon arrival in New York, and Miss Marjorie Noll, who was chosen as the 1929 beauty queen in a recent contest held at the De Paul University, Chicago. Further attractions are flashlight photographs taken at the annual prize-giving and dance of the Manukau Cruising Club. Woods’ Great Peppermint Cure First aid for coughs, colds, influenza.
