THE PUBLIC LIBRARY.
COMMITTEE’S ANNUAL REPORT.
1 The following annual report by the committee of the Paeroa Public Library was presented to the Borough Council at its last meeting : —
There were no outstanding incidents to report in regard to the library and reading room during the past year. Subscribers had slightly increased in number, but there ought to be a great many more, considering the population of the town and the advantageous terms' offered. The reference library had been increased by three volumes of literature and art, and the lending department with al! the latest literature, comprising fiction, travel, biography, etc.
The committee would like to draw the attention of the council to the need qf some heating apparatus during the winter months in the librarian’s room. If a radiator and point could be supplied the library funds could meet the extra expenses. The thanks of the committee were due to various subscribers and pthers who had donated magazines and newspapers to the reading room, and to Mr C. N. O’Neill, who kindly audited the annual balance sheet.
