A somewhat unusual and certainly unexpected experience befell a resident of Waipukurau district a few days ago. Having need for medical advice, he walked up the footpath to a Waipukurau doctor’s residence. Trees were being felled on a hill about a chain away, and a small splinter from a wedge being used in splitting . the trunk struck him, making a bad * cut in his ear, necessitating more medical attention.
