NOTICE OF INTENTION TO STRIKE RATES IN THE BOROUGH OF PAEROA. “IVrOTICE is hereby given that Xl the Paeroa Borough Council, at a meeting to be held in the Borough Council Chambers, Normanby Road, on the 13th day of June, 1929, at 7.30 p.m., will make and levy the followingrates for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1929, and ending on the 31st March, 1930, under : Sections 77-79, 82, 88, 94, and 98 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” and amendments thereof ; Sections 17-23 of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926” ; Sections 51-59 of “The Rating Act, 1925” ; Section 52 of “The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926” ; and Section 73 of “The. Reserves and Othei’ Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1922,” namely : A General Rate of 3:fd in the £. ‘ A Separate Lighting Rate of 19-32 d in the £. A Separate Hospital Rate of gd in the £. A Separate Water Rate in accordance with charges specified in Part XV. of Paeroa Borough By-Law No. 1 and amendments thereof. And in order to. provide Interest and Sinking Funds, to collect the following Special Rates of : l-16d in the £ on the £650 borrowed for Financial Adjustment purposes, such being part of the Special Rate of Id in the £ struck on the 17th May, 1917, on the annual value. 27-16 d in the £ on the £34,500 borrowed for Sewerage Works, such being part of the Special Rate of 4.1 d in the £ struck on the 20th September, 1921. Id in the £ on the £11,250 borrowed for Street Improvements Works, such being part of the Special Rate of l|d in the £ struck on the 20th September, 1921. 7-32 d in the £ on the £lBOO borrowed for Borough’s contribution towards erection Criterion Bridge, such being Special Rate of 7-32 d in the £ struck on the 14th July, 1927. 3-16 d in the £ bn the £2OOO borrowed for erection of Swimming Baths, such being part of the Special Rate of |d in the £ struck on the 14th July, 1927. in the £ on the £lOOO borrowed for Domain Improvements Works, such being the Special Rate of ( Jd in the £ struck on the ,18th October, 1923. |d in the £ on the £2OOO borrowed for Relief of Unemployment, such being the Special Rate of ftd in the £ struck on the 14th July, 1927. All the above rates are on the unimproved value on the Valua- , tion Roll of all rateable property in the Borough of Paeroa, and payable in one sum on the 25th day of June, 1929. Notice is hereby given that the Valuation Roll is open for inspection at the Borough Council Chambers, Normanby Road. Dated this 17th day of May, 1929. Estimate Showing the General Rate Required for the Period Ist April, 1929, to 31st March, 1930. The following Estimate, having been approved by the Paeroa Borough Council, is published for general information : Proposed expenditure during the above period, £7392 2s 2d. Credit balance from previous year, £514 12s lid. Estimated receipts, rents, licenses, transfers from separate accounts, outstanding rates, etc., £4330 11s 9d. Balance, £2546 17s 6d, proposed to be met by a General Rate of 3|d on £163,000, being the total Unimproved Rating Value on the Valuation Roll of all rateable property in the Borough of Paeroa.
