HAURAKI PLAINS ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. The Hauraki Plains Ladies’ Hockey Association held its annual meeting at Ngatea on Tuesday evening, Mr C. W. Harris (Waitakaruru) presiding over Messrs H. Kerby and J. Miller, Kopuarahi; C. Muller, Turua; J. H. Nicholson and J. Blythe, Kerepeehi; R. C. Abel, Ngatea School; and E. R. Alexander (secretary), Ngatea. Annual Report. The annual report recorded a very successful season as far as play was concerned. The standard had been very satisfactory, and valuable experience had been gained as a result of the visits to Auckland. The report commented on the splendid sportsmanship shown throughout the season by players, particularly those of the junior teams. The inter-dub competition had again been won by the Waitakaruru Club. The representatives had taken part in the Auckland Association’s country week tournament, and two representative teams had travelled to Auckland to play the annual match with the Mt. Eden Club. Finance. The balance-sheet for the portion of the year since the appointment of the present secretary showed that there was a deficiency of £1 8s 4d. This amount was due to Mr J. H. Nicholson, who agreed to forego the amount so that the season would be commenced clear of debt. Mr Nicholson was accorded a vote of thanks. Officials. The following officers were elected : President, Mr J. H. Nicholson; vice-presidents, Messrs C. W. Harris, D. J. O’Carroll, and J. Blythe ; secretary, Mr E. R. Alexander, pro tern ; committee, two delegates from each club ; selectors, Messrs C. W. Harris, E. Campbell, and J. H. Nicholson; coach, Mr T. Field. It was agreed to ask the Auckland Association to make an appointment if a delegate to represent the Haurraki Plains sub-association. Referees. It was decided that home teams be made responsible for providing referees. The following referees were enrolled : Messrs E. R. Alexander, C. Callender, J. Miller, H. Kerby, T. Field, C. W. Harris, Boswell, A. Kendall, and J. Blythe. Draw for Season. It was stated that the Kerepeehi and Kopuarahi clubs would have B grade teams, anti it was probable that the Turua club would also have a second team. It was therefore agreed that should there be three teams, a junior section would be formed ; but if there were less than three junior teams they would have to play with the seniors. There were sure to be five senior’ grade teams, but it was doubtful whether Ngatea could get sufficient players. The following draw was' made for the first match of the competition, on May 4 : — Ngatea v. School, at Ngatea ; Turua v. Kopuarahi, at Turua ; Kerepeehi v. Waitakaruru, at Kerepeehi; Kopuarahi B v. Kerepeehi B, at Kopuarahi.
