NGATEA. CHURCH SOCIAL. With the approach of. winter; the Ngatea members ptf the Church of England have commenced the series of socials in aid of the fundi for the building of a church. The firpt social was held on Wednesday, and! there w.as a gclod attendance, all par.ts of the Plains and also TJhamJes being represented'. The music was by a Ngatea orchestra —Miss Nftwshom (piano), Messrs JKing and l S. Coppins (saxophones, AKawini (violin), M. Martin (banjo), and H. Barriball (drums). Mr J. Ndate was M.C. A progressive euchr.e tournament was held, the prize winners being Miss Irwin and Mr L. Cotter, while Mrs Coppins and Mr H. Kirkman were awarded the consolation prizes. nThe Monte Cai,lo waltz was w'on by Miss; Burgess and Mr A. MeAulay.
