NGATEA. HALL SOCIETY. The executive committee of the Ngatea Public Hall Society met on Tuesday evening, Mr G. T. Davidson presiding over Messrs S. Phillips, G. Phillips, J. King, and S. Tarver (secretary). . The financial presented by the secretary, showed earnings for the month of March totalling £3O 17s 2d, and expenditure, including a proportion of the annual charges, of £ll 12s Id. The bank overdraft stood at £lO9 9s 6d, and assets totalled £32 18s, while liabilities were £5 3s Bd. A cheque for £7 had been received from the County Council on behalf of the township lighting fund.
The free use of the hall for a church service on Anzac Day was granted. It was agreed to have an electric light installed in the pictureoperating box. Regarding the lighting of the township, the secretary reported that the fund was 10s 2d short of the amount required to pay off the old debt.
Mr Phillips mentioned that the social committee proposed having another social for the fund in the near future.
